What a thrill it is to see the Plus Beauty agency's unique star, Nadia Peņa (size 14/16), on the Torrid cover.

The image is truly a remarkable one--the finest example of plus-size beauty expressed in a Gothic style since Kate Dillon's acclaimed "KateScape" editorial layout in the September 1998 issue of Mode magazine.

But in a way, this highly atmospheric image is even more stunning. The aesthetic is Gothic, but it is also rich and opulent. Nadia's own voluptuous fullness, the shining gold of her ornate earring, and the figure-embracing top create a lush atmosphere that is overwhelmingly alluring, even as it is dark in tone.

There is a mystery about the image, and it has the depth of a true work of art. One wonders--what could possibly lie beyond the gate against which Nadia is resting? It is a dim, dying light, and a profoundly mysterious landscape.

But who would not brave the terrors of that haunted realm, if, in doing so, he could approach this goddess of the night?

The image recalls the atmosphere of Abbey in the Oakwood (1810), a painting by the great German Romantic artist, Caspar David Friedrich, who is the unchallenged master of Gothic Romanticism:

What a stunning debut for Nadia on the Torrid site. We eagerly hope to see more of her work there in the near future.
